Installation Paths

Install the Free Version (Required)

Before installing PRO, you must have the core plugin active. Log in to your WordPress Dashboard. Go to Plugins → Add New Plugin → search for “Stolik Menu” → click Install Now → then Activate.

Install the PRO Add-on

1. After your purchase via Lemon Squeezy, check your email for the receipt.
2. Click the “View Order” or “Download” button in that email.
3. Download the stolik-menu-pro.zip file to your computer and copy your unique License Key.
4. In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin.
5. Choose the stolik-menu-pro.zip file, click Install Now, and then Activate.

Installing PRO alongside Free: upload stolik-menu-pro.zip (provided after purchase) while keeping free plugin active; PRO auto-detects and unlocks premium features.

Update policy

Keep auto-updates enabled or update manually via Plugins list; PRO updates require active license.

Initial Plugin Activation Checklist

On the Design & Style set restaurant name and currency. The base language is automaticaly detected.
Confirm WordPress permalinks use Post Name or other non-plain structure (Settings → Permalinks).
Publish first page for menu (base language) from Menu Editor or Languages Page.
Locate generated menu page (Pages → “Menu”).

Connecting the Free License

The free edition requires no license key; simply keep the plugin active. To unlock your premium features, you must activate the PRO add-on:

1. Go to your WordPress Dashboard and navigate to Stolik Menu → License.
2. Paste the License Key you copied from your Lemon Squeezy receipt.
3. Click Activate License.
4. Once successful, the status indicator will turn green and display “Active”. All premium templates, custom branding, and unlimited languages are now unlocked.

Initial Configuration Setup Tasks

Step 1: Choose base locale (default language of WordPress). This controls initial menu content and QR link.
Step 2: Pick default template (Light/Dark/Modern etc.). You can override per locale.
Step 3: Configure currency display (symbol, position) and thousand/decimal separators.
Step 4: Upload restaurant logo (optional) for menu header and QR cards (PRO feature).
Step 5: Review preview page; click “Publish Menu Page” to make it public.

Next Steps after Setup

Add menu categories (e.g., Starters, Main Courses) and items via Stolik Menu → Menu Editor.

Enable translations: Menu Editor → choose language. Configure additional locales via the Languages screen and translate content through Translation Mode (Menu Editor → choose language).

Generate and print QR codes (Stolik Menu → QR Codes) for tables:

Configure colors and logos (PRO feature).
Configure PRO-only features such as Featured items, menu scheduling, or custom QR styles if licensed.

Troubleshooting

“Too many activations”:
click Manage Activations to revoke old site.
“Request timed out”:
ensure outbound HTTPS to api.lemonsqueezy.com.
“Key invalid”:
copy exactly, no spaces; check you used PRO key, not order ID.
I see “Network Error” when activating:
This usually happens if your server blocks outgoing connections. Try clicking the “Refresh Status” button. If the problem persists, please contact our support.
I see “Activation limit reached”:
This means you have used this key on the maximum number of websites allowed by your plan (e.g., 1 site for Single Plan, 5 sites for Business Plan). To use it on this site, you must deactivate it on one of your old sites first.
My PRO features are not visible:
Make sure both Stolik Menu (Free) and Stolik Menu PRO plugins are active in the Plugins list.
I purchased PRO but I don’t see the ZIP file download button on my receipt page:
This is usually caused by aggressive AdBlockers (like uBlock Origin) or strict “Tracking Protection” in browsers like Brave, Firefox, or Safari’s Incognito mode. These tools can sometimes block the secure script that generates your download file. Please temporarily disable your AdBlocker or open the email link in a standard Chrome window to see the download button.

Multilingual Support (Polylang) – Best Practices

Changing the Main Language

Stolik Menu is designed to work seamlessly with Polylang. Switching Primary Language: If you change your site’s default language in Polylang settings (e.g., from English to Spanish), the plugin will automatically adapt. You do not need to reinstall the plugin. Just ensure your [stolik_menu] shortcode is placed on a page that is accessible in the new primary language.

How to stop Polylang from creating draft menu items

By default, Polylang tries to synchronize menus across all languages. This can sometimes result in unwanted draft menu items or duplicated structures. To disable this behavior:
1. Go to your WordPress Dashboard and navigate to Languages → Settings.
2. Locate the Synchronization module and click to expand it.
3. Uncheck the Menus option.
4. Click Save Changes.
This will give you full manual control over menus for each language independently, without auto-generated drafts.
