Adding & Editing Items

Open the left-column Menu Item form to enter the core details: Name, Description, Price, Category, and an image.
Image uploads use the standard WordPress media uploader, so you can pick existing media or add new photos without leaving the editor.
Save the form.

Hiding Out-of-Stock Items

If a dish is temporarily sold out, you don’t need to delete it. Simply toggle the Active / Hidden switch in the table row. The item will instantly disappear from the public menu and QR code link, but remain in your admin panel for later.

Marking Items as Sold Out

If you want to keep a dish visible on the menu so customers know you usually offer it, but it’s temporarily unavailable, use the Sold Out toggle (the lock icon) in the right-column table.

On the frontend: The item will be elegantly grayed out and overlaid with a prominent Sold Out badge. To ensure a frustration-free user experience, clicking on a sold-out item is disabled, preventing the lightbox modal from opening.

Pro Tip: The Sold Out badge is fully integrated with our multilingual engine. It automatically translates into the menu’s active language (e.g., “Wyprzedane” in Polish, “售罄” in Chinese, or “مباع” in Arabic)!*

Organizing Categories

Categories are selected or created directly from the Menu Item form.
The right-column table groups dishes by category and supports drag-and-drop ordering; simply grab the row handle to rearrange items within a category.
All ordering and category assignments are persisted through the same AJAX layer, so the public menu reflects your adjustments as soon as they’re published.

Publishing Your Menu

The Publish Menu button in the toolbar creates or updates the WordPress page that contains the [stolik_menu] shortcode and also refreshes the QR cache.
Use the View / Preview button to open the page / draft and confirm your layout before publishing changes live.

Using the Shortcode

If you prefer not to use the auto-generated page, you can copy the [stolik_menu] shortcode directly from the top toolbar and paste it into any WordPress page, post, or Elementor block.

Translating Content (Translation Mode)

Switch locales with the inline selector;
On Menu Editor → Choose Your Language → Select Your language and you will see the Translation Mode

The URL updates to include ?translate_locale=xx_XX so you always know which language you’re editing.
In Translation Mode, structural actions (reordering, adding, deleting items) are locked — focus on translating item titles, descriptions, and category names.
System labels, including the dedicated “– system label” row, are loaded for precise overrides.

Features (Featured Items)

Users can toggle the Featured star in the right-column table to highlight high-margin dishes or chef’s specials. These toggles sit alongside the standard Active/Hidden status switch.
On the frontend: Featured items automatically stand out with a distinct visual design (such as a highlighted border, custom background, or a star icon, depending on your template), naturally drawing your guests’ eyes and increasing sales.

Troubleshooting

Changes not visible? Click Publish Menu to regenerate the shortcode page and refresh cached outputs.
Can’t move items? Make sure Translation Mode is off—structural actions are intentionally disabled while translating to prevent accidental edits.

How to stop Polylang from creating draft menu items

By default, Polylang tries to synchronize menus across all languages. This can sometimes result in unwanted draft menu items or duplicated structures. To disable this behavior:
1. Go to your WordPress Dashboard and navigate to Languages → Settings.
2. Locate the Synchronization module and click to expand it.
3. Uncheck the Menus option.
4. Click Save Changes.
This will give you full manual control over menus for each language independently, without auto-generated drafts.
