QR Codes & Sharing
QR Codes & Sharing
Overview:
Your digital menu needs a bridge to the physical world. The QR Codes & Sharing section allows you to generate, customize, and print high-quality QR codes that guests can scan to view your menu instantly.
This page explains how to design your QR code, handle digital sharing, and track scan statistics.

Accessing the QR Generator
Navigate to Stolik Menu > QR Code in your WordPress dashboard. Here you will see a live preview of your QR code on the left (or top on mobile) and configuration options on the right.
Sharing Your Menu Link
Before generating a QR code, you might want to share the menu digitally (e.g., on social media or via SMS).
- Copy Link: Click the Copy URL button (clipboard icon) to instantly copy the direct link to your menu.
- Link Structure: The link automatically appends tracking parameters (e.g., ?stolik_qr_scan=1) to help you monitor traffic sources.
Auto-Language Redirect
The plugin includes a smart Auto-Redirect feature.
- How it works: When enabled, the QR code (or link) detects the language settings of the visitor’s phone browser.
- The Benefit: If a French tourist scans your code, they are automatically redirected to the French version of your menu (if available).
- Usage: You only need one single QR code for all languages.
This eliminates table clutter completely—there is no need to print separate QR codes for English, Spanish, or German guests. One elegant QR code serves your entire global audience.
Note: To enable this, check the “Auto-redirect to visitor’s language” box in the settings panel.
Customizing QR Appearance [PRO]
While the Free version provides a standard, high-contrast black-and-white QR code, Stolik Menu PRO unlocks full visual customization to match your brand identity.
Colors & Shapes
- Foreground Color: Change the black pixels to your brand color.
- Background Color: Adjust the background (default is white).
- Corner Rounding: Use the slider to soften the sharp edges of the QR “eyes” (the three large squares in the corners).
- Background Rounding: Round the outer edges of the entire QR code sticker.
Quiet Zone (Margins)
The “Quiet Zone” is the white space bordering the QR code.
- Adjustable Thickness: Use the slider to increase or decrease this margin.
- Recommendation: A thicker Quiet Zone (4-6 modules) is recommended for printed materials to ensure reliable scanning.
Important: Always maintain high contrast between the QR code and the background. Dark code on a light background works best for scanners.
Adding Your Logo [PRO]
Make your QR code recognizable by embedding your restaurant’s logo in the center.
- Upload Logo: You can upload a specific logo for the QR code (square PNGs with transparent backgrounds work best). If you don’t upload a specific image, the plugin will conveniently suggest using your main Menu Logo. You can apply it with one click or leave the space empty.
- Logo Shape: Choose between Circle, Rounded, or Square frames.
- Logo Background: Add a solid White, Black, or Custom color background behind your logo to make it pop against the QR pattern.
- Logo Size: Adjust the logo size between 5% and 9%. The system limits this to ensure the QR code remains readable by phones.
Downloading & Printing
Once you are happy with your design, it’s time to export.
Export Formats
- PNG: Standard image format, perfect for social media, websites, and general printing.
High-Resolution Export [PRO]
The PRO version allows you to choose the export quality:
- 1×: Best for web/email.
- 2× & 3×: Recommended for flyers and table tents.
- 4×: Maximum resolution for large format printing (posters, A-boards).
In addition to high-resolution PNGs, PRO users can download the QR code in SVG format. SVGs are vector graphics, meaning they can be scaled to absolutely any size (even a billboard!) without ever losing quality.
Print Mode
Click the Print QR Code button to open a dedicated print dialog. This mode:
- Generates a high-DPI version of the code.
- Centers it on the page.
- Is ready for immediate printing on office printers.
Scan Statistics
Track how well your physical marketing is performing. The dashboard displays a simple chart showing:
- Total Scans: All-time scans since installation.
- Today: Scans recorded in the last 24 hours.
- Last 7 Days: A visual bar chart to identify your busiest days.
You can reset these statistics at any time using the Reset Stats button.
